Leran Marche Nocturne, July 3, 2009

Leran pulled off another successful Marche Gourmand last evening. It was warm and only a little rain fell, not enough to drive anyone indoors. The trees along Cour St. Jacque that were massacred, or pollarded last winter, are beginning to look almost normal. People turned out to enjoy the evening with good friends and a little wine. Most of the usual suspects were there. Here are a few pictures of some of the folks I ran into last night; handsome young men, beautiful young ladies and a few dapper old gentlemen. If I'm not mistaken, I believe I captured some French, British, Irish and Belgians with my camera. It looks like to me that everyone was having a pretty good time.

How are these Leran events organized? Do you pay per person? Bring potluck (happy thought)? Your blog makes me think that they are a local tradition. More background info, please! :) Suddenly I am very hungry.

The village of Leran puts them on. Village workers set up the tables, chairs, etc. and do all the clean up. No charge to attend. You can buy dinner from the vendors, or bring your own food, or have a potluck at the table. Your choice. The bar sells booze and there are often wine vendors selling bottles.
