We Need Your Help

We hope you've been enjoying reading North of Andorra and hearing about what we are up to. We've tried very hard to keep it interesting and readable. We've taken lots of photos from everywhere we've gone and posted the better more interesting ones. We've done research and written thousands of words.

Now, we'd like your help. We are suffering from severe lack of creativity due to long hours of plastering, carpentering, cleaning and moving furniture around. So....please tell us what you want to hear about. Suggest a trip or an excursion. Ask a question. Propose a photo essay or a theme for a post. Ask about what you think has been sorely missing from the blog. What haven't we touched on?

Alternatively, send us an e-mail and tell us what you are up to. You know what we're doing but for the most part, we don't have a clue what our friends in the United States are doing. (Out of sight, out of mind. N'est pas.)

OK, We are off to Des Moines for the weekend to visit college friends and to see "Carmen". It will be performed at a small college in Indianola just outside of Des Moines.

On another note I have discovered a great drive-through french bakery in Omaha sorta near to where we are building an accessible home for us old farts. So far the foundation is poured. au revoir, Judy

i already miss you both, your house and the old man across the street. (i want to know more about the cute guy who rides his bike with greens on the back...what did he used to do? how far away is his garden? how can david become like him, mellow and busy?) it seems like when you're there you want to be here but when you're here, you just want to get back there. the home routine gets boring pretty quick...luckily i had enough fun that i still feel like i'm in vacation mode...eventually this feeling will fade so i'm already talking david into a trip over... -mathilde

You have done an amazing job with your blog and I still think you ought to considering finding a publisher. I would like to hear some musings on your daily routine, what you observe about les citoyens of Leran, etc. Are you going to see La Tour de France? It will be coming through your neck of the woods. From the tv coverage I've seen in the past it is a huge deal in France. The love their peletons et bicyclettes. Also, how is your French coming along. What transactions are you able to negotiate in French, how do you think your accents are? Are you taking any lessons? Do you have casual conversations in French yet?

Love, Leslie

You two are doing a great job with your blog! It reminds me of the old Saturday serials--I am always looking forward to the next installment: Will Doug fall off the ladder? Will the joists stay up where they belong? Will Nancy paint the shutters menopause mauve? Tune in next week, folks, for the next exciting episode of the Doug and Nancy Show!

Hmmm, "Menopause Mauve" shutters. And just what would the house color then be, dare I ask???

I hope drive-through boulangeries don't attract any marketing attention in France. I can envision them really popular with some of these Grand Prix wannabe drivers---just call in your order from your cell phone from a few km away, deposit the correct amount of Euros in the cash box and they toss you your baguette or croissant. Voila!

Re: House Color
Viagra Violet leaps to mind, as a suitable accompaniment to Menopause Mauve.
